Bio
Susan Pierce is a New Brunswick artist, residing in Fredericton since 1998 where she studied Anthropology and Psychology at St Thomas University. Born in rural Vermont, she has lived in and traveled through most of Canada including the far North and finds inspiration in the beauty and diversity of our culture and landscape
Pierce started drawing and sculpting after moving to Nova Scotia as a teenager and began painting in 2006. Although primarily self taught, she has studied under several artists including Glenn Priestley and William Forrestall.
Pierce’s work expresses nature in time, witnessing the fragile ephemeral quality of a moment as it changes, exposing the juxtaposition of permanence and impermanence of the moment.
Her work can be found in collections across Canada and the United States.
